Digitrax PR3 Sound Programmer and Loconet PC Interface TM The PR3 Hardware is used to program sound files into a Digitrax Sound decoder as well as read and write various CVs and send and monitor Loconet message traffic. The PR3 consists of a USB virtual COM port that talks to the computer, a Programming Track driver, and Loconet port. Scroll down to the LPT/ COM port then double click Prolific USB to Serial Comm Port; Click Driver in the Windows Properties section; The driver must be numbered as '2.0.2.8' and dates accordingly If the driver was not installed, remove the Serial adapter then run 'PL2303DriverInstaller.exe' again. The MS100 Computer Interface is designed to let a computer with an IBM compatible COM, or RS232 communications port, monitor Digitrax LocoNet. Application software running in the computer can then interpret the activity on the LocoNet and report back to the user via the computer screen. Digitrax introduced the DCS240 device in 2016. This command station includes an integrated PR3 device. For the purposes of JMRI, the DCS240 USB interface device is equivalent to a PR3. PR3 as a stand-alone decoder programmer.
I'm new to this blog stuff so I hopes this goes where I want.. I have purchased a Digitrax Zephyr Xtra and a PR3 for computer interface. I followed the instructions as best I could and was not able to install the VCOM driver for the PR3. The software to uninstall the VCOM, USBDeview is now where to be found. I want to use the JMRI to setup and run my small layout.
Has anyone successfully installed the software for PR3 and have it working with Windows 7 and how did you get there?
Digitrax has not been of any help.. Hopefully they will get into the 21st century one of these days.

Digitrax UR90 Infrared Receiver
